The proposed fundraising event is a Guinness World Record (GWR) Challenge – to create the LONGEST AWARENESS RIBBON CHAIN. It is proposed to have a 5-mile ribbon chain running the length of Bray seafront/Cliff Walk/Greystones sea front. The ribbon chain will be created by sewing 39,000 bands of 10” ribbon lengths together – this task is already underway.

How to recruit? – a system is being set up involving 100 individual ‘cells’ or groups – hopefully Greystones and Bray residents but also Cancer Clinical Research Trust families and friends. Each cell leader will have responsibility for bringing 40 people to line the route. Each ribbon holder will be asked to donate A MINIMUM OF €10. The route will be sectorised. Each cell group will be allocated responsibility for holding the ribbon along a certain section of the trail. It is envisaged that about 4,000 people will line the route holding the ribbon.

IN THE INTEREST OF HEALTH AND SAFETY, ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT WILL BE ALLOWED HOLD THE RIBBON ON THE DAY. For similar reasons, only adults will be allowed on the cliff section of the route. If you are a member of a cell please note the name of your cell leader in the comment box. If you would like to join a cell please state in the comment box and email helen@thecarolinefoundation.com.

Participants Needed Urgently: If you would be interested in setting up a ‘cell’ or joining a ‘cell’ please contact Helen O’Sullivan-Dwyer (helen@thecarolinefoundation.com) or 087 6755751. We really need your support to set a new Guinness World Record for the LONGEST AWARENESS RIBBON CHAIN while supporting cancer research. Charity Number: CHY12210TCF.
